Sinister

Sinister was directed by Scott Derrickson.

The stars are Ethan Hawke, Juliet Rylance, Fred Thompson and some others.

The film was filmed in 2012.

Ellison Oswalt is a writer. He writes about crimes because of that he needs to move with his family near the crime's scene to concentrate and investigate.

This time, he chose a house where one family died. They were hanged and Ellison has to find out who murdered them.

I liked the film. It was good.

Snow white and the Huntsman

That film was directed by Rupert Sander.

It stars are Kristen Stewart as Snow white, Charlize Theron as Ravenna and Chris Hemsworth as the hunter.

The film was filmed in 2012 in Windsor Great Park in England.

It has not only won one BAFTA by Best Costume Design but also won two Oscars: Best Visual Effects and Best Costume Design as well.

Snow white is more beautiful than Queen Ravenna. Because of that the Queen wants to murder; but she doesn't know that the hunter, whose mission was to kill Snow white, had thought her to defend herself before.

I strongly recommend you this film.

Coco Chanel

The life story of the legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel.
The film was directed by Christian Duguay.
It was filmed in 2008. It was a mini-series format TV.
The great actress Shirley Maclaine is the star and Barbora Bobulova who plays the part of young Coco.

This mini-series had 4 nominations:

• Best actress: Shirley Maclaine
• Outstanding female Actor: Shirley Maclaine
• Outstanding Made for TV movie
• Outstanding Lead Actress in a mini-series or a movie: Shirley Maclaine

In my opinion it's a good film.

I would like to find the soundtrack of it because I really enjoyed the songs.

Django Unchained

I'm going to recommend you a good film: Django Unchained.
The film was directed by Quentin Tarantino.
I don't like Tarantino. I could see many years ago one film from him: Jackie Brown but it was so boring.
But this time I decided to give the film the opportunity.
Django Unchained was filmed in 2012.
The stars are Christoph Waltz, Jamie Foxx, Leonardo Di Caprio, Kerry Washintong, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Johnson, etc...
It is set in 1858 in Louisiana, New Orleans, Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park, Alabama Hills in California. The landscape is beautiful.

A bounty hunter buys the freedom of slave because he needs him to do his job.
The slave accept the offer with the only condition to find his wife.
It's a long film but it is entertaining.
As a curious date Will Smith said that he didn't want to play Django because he thought that Django wasn't the star of the film.
The film won two Oscar this year:
Best Supporting Actor prize for Christoph Waltz
Best Original Screenplay for Quentin Tarantino

A good TV series

I would like to talk about Homeland. I had been watching this series, since its beginning on 2011. 

The series is a thriller what sub-genres are crime, drama and  mystery.

The stars are good. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis are perfect for this story. 

She is a CIA officer and he is a marine. She suspects that he is threat for her country. 

The series won The Golden Globe award for Best television series in 2012 and 2013; moreover this year Claire Danes and Damian Lewis won that prizes for Best actors on TV series.

I strongly recommend Homeland.

Nominated to the Oscar

I'm talking about Argo.
The film was directed by Ben Affleck.
It was filmed in Los Angeles, Washington, DC and Istanbul.
It is set in 1979.
It is a true story about the rescue of six americans from Iran.
I watched that film before the nominations. I think it is a good film, it deserves (an Oscar) some prizes...

In my opinion...

Many time ago it came to my mind writing about cinema but I never did it.

Today I tried to watch two films but it was impossible. I chose two bad films and I'm going to try that never happened again.

I'm not a critic I don't have enough knowledge about this art but I have watched some films and I can recommend which ones you should watch and which ones you shouldn't, from my perspective.

Sometimes I choose the film because the cast is good or the topic is interesting or just because the trailers are promising.

That happened with the film: "Anna Karenina". The wardrobes and the scenes were great. But in a few minutes, I could realized that the film didn't fulfill my expectation.

I didn't like it.

Unfortunately the film "Killing them softly" wasn't a better option. 

It was a shame because the actors are good and the films were promising...
